Our partnership with Studio in a School brings professional visual artists into our classrooms to lead engaging, hands-on art residencies that align with our school’s STEAM initiative. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, students explore creative problem-solving, design thinking, and visual storytelling—skills that connect directly to engineering, math, and science concepts. These experiences also support Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) by encouraging self-expression, collaboration, and perseverance.
Brooklyn Youth Chorus (BYC)

Elevating STEAM Through Music
Our partnership with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus brings the power of music into our STEAM framework, enriching students’ learning through vocal training, performance, and cultural exploration. Through this program, scholars develop essential skills in rhythm, pitch, and musical structure, which reinforce both mathematical thinking and scientific understanding of sound.
Noel Pointer Violin (NPF)

As part of our STEAM, initiative we are proud to partner with the Noel Pointer Foundation to bring high-quality string instruction to our scholars as part of our school’s STEAM initiative. Thanks to a generous grant from Council Member Chi Ossé, students in grades 3–5 have the opportunity to explore the art and science of music by learning to play the violin in a structured, engaging, and supportive environment.
Brooklyn Information and Culture (BRIC) Media Arts

Arts Integration in STEAM through BRIC. BRIC brings visual arts and media literacy into the STEAM framework, helping our students explore creativity alongside science, technology, engineering, and math.
Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

Through our partnership with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, students in grades 3–5 participate in the Chamber Music Beginnings program—an immersive introduction to the world of chamber music that aligns with our school’s STEAM and SEL goals.
This residency brings professional musicians and teaching artists into the classroom and includes live performances at venues like the Brooklyn Public Library. Students explore the science of sound, mathematical patterns in music, and the art of ensemble collaboration, deepening their understanding of both music and core academic concepts.
Aligned with the NYC Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Music, this program nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression—key components of a well-rounded STEAM education.
LEAP (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program)

Our partnership with LEAP (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program) brings families and students together through engaging, arts-based workshops that support our school’s STEAM and SEL goals. These workshops—offered in both single-session and extended formats—feature visual arts, dance, and creative movement, and are tailored to meet the needs of our school community.
Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana: Dance, Culture & STEAM in Motion
We are thrilled to partner with Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana to bring the vibrant art of flamenco to our scholars through an engaging in-school residency. This program blends dance, music, history, and cultural storytelling, offering a rich, interdisciplinary experience that supports our school’s STEAM and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) goals.Students explore the science of sound and movement, the mathematics of rhythm and pattern, and the engineering of choreography and costume design—all while developing poise, confidence, and cultural awareness. The residency begins with a live performance by professional flamenco artists and culminates in a student showcase, complete with authentic costumes provided by Flamenco Vivo.
This powerful program helps students connect the arts to academic learning, while celebrating identity, expression, and global traditions.
Brooklyn Connections

Through our partnership with Brooklyn Connections, a program of the Brooklyn Public Library, our scholars engage in a dynamic, research-based learning experience that connects local history with 21st-century STEAM skills. Students become historians and investigators, exploring Brooklyn’s rich past through primary sources, archival materials, and guided research projects. Students also develop critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, while making meaningful connections between their community’s history and their own identities.
Disney Musical in the Schools (DMIS)

We are proud to participate in Disney Musicals in Schools, a dynamic program that brings the magic of musical theater into our classrooms—at no cost to our school. Through this residency, students experience the full process of producing a musical, from auditions and rehearsals to a final performance, using beloved Disney KIDS titles like 101 Dalmatians, Frozen, and Aristocats.
This program supports our STEAM initiative by integrating:
- Science and sound through voice and acoustics
- Technology in lighting, sound design, and digital choreography tools
- Engineering in set and costume design
- Arts through acting, singing, and dancing
- Mathematics in rhythm, timing, and stage blocking
In addition to building academic connections, the program fosters Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) by promoting teamwork, confidence, empathy, and creative expression.
League of Young Inventors

Our partnership with the League of Young Inventors brings hands-on, invention-based learning into our STEM Lab, empowering students to think like engineers, designers, and problem-solvers. Through engaging, standards-aligned units, scholars explore real-world challenges using the engineering design process, while building critical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). Students research solutions to prototyping, testing, and redesigning their own inventions. Along the way, students develop creativity, collaboration, and resilience, while connecting their learning to real-world applications.

Sanitation Foundation & Grand Pistachio Collaboration

Through our collaboration with the Sanitation Foundation and Grand Pistachio our second grade Green Team members engage in hands-on learning experiences that connect environmental science, engineering, and the arts. Students learn about waste, recycling, and sustainability through hands-on activities that culminate in the design and creation of their own puppets. The residency concludes with a joyful puppet performance, where students share their learning and creativity with the school community.
